Spring 1 - Electricity
In Spring 1 our science topic is Electricity.
We will be working scientifically to investigate what electricity is, examples of common electrical appliances, how we can create a simple series circuit, what the difference is between a conductor and insulator and what the effect of adding a switch to a circuit is.
Here is our knowledge organiser:
Conductors and insulators
This week year 3 tested some different materials including; metal spoons, water, rubbers, graphite, plastic and paper to test weather they were conductors or insulators. We found out that water is a slow conductor of electricity when metal spoons are placed in water.
Constructing a simple series circuit
Year 3 applied their learning from the Magna science adventure science to their science lessons this week. Children worked in pairs to create a simple series circuit. We had lots of fun!
Magna science adventure trip
Year 3 had a FANTASTIC time at the Magna science adventure centre!
