Student Wellbeing
At Victoria Primary School we support students' social, academic and emotional well-being. This is a joint responsibility between home and school.
We believe in supporting our students to become caring, considerate, compassionate and active citizens. We do this by explicitly teaching social skills that complement our school values and vision.
In order to improve teaching and learning, educators at Victoria Primary School have developed a strong understanding of well-being. Teachers have adapted their teaching, the learning environment and whole school practices to better meet the learning needs of our students.
At Victoria Primary School we liaise regularly with external agencies and have a Counsellor (Miss Sarah Gigg) on site every day, a Trauma and Attachment assistant (Ms Michelle Coley) to help pupils learn the skills needed to get through life and a Family Support Worker (Miss Ellen Woodhouse) who is able to help families with social care involvement, housing, benefits, domestic problems and much more. Ellen is available by direct phone on 0115 807 7755 or by WhatsApp or Text on 07375 557517.
