Home Learning Packs
Children will come home with a Home Learning Pack today. Keep this safe. When the government closes schools, children will be expected to complete this work at home. If your child is already off school, you can send someone to the school office from Thursday to collect the Pack for you. Thanks Mr Gray
How will we do this?
Learning at home can be a challenge. You do not need to provide a full 6 hours of learning for your child. Work in whatever way suits your family. Get it out of the way before 1100 every day, try a little bit four times each day or do “day – on – day – off”… there is no right way of doing this!
It is important that children do not turn off their brains in the coming weeks. Having no challenge for a week or two will set back your child’s chances later in their school life. Make your child a sticker chart – we will happily reward children for having done well when school reopens! Equally, feel free to use detentions as a threat – we will happily back you up and give a consequence for not having done work when we return to school.
How will you keep in touch?
We will keep the school website up to date. Scroll to the bottom of the home page to see the “News” tabs for whole-school messages and remember to check in on the year group webpages to see messages and updates from teachers for each class too. We will send text messages for anything urgent – so please make sure we have your correct contact number!
What if it all goes wrong?
Family Support is still available from Lorraine even whilst school is closed:

We know that money might get tight at this time. Don’t worry about replacing outgrown school uniform until we are back at school. If you’ve paid for a trip that ends up being cancelled we will contact you to get your refund to you as soon as we can.
The Food Bank at Bridgeway Hall Methodist Church on the Bridgeway Centre (Arkwright Street) is open Tuesday evenings, Friday mornings and Saturday lunchtime.
A referral is needed – families should take benefits evidence to the Bridges Community Trust One Stop Shop in the precinct.
