Harvest time Food Bank Collection

We are so pleased to announce that we will be able to celebrate Harvest Festival in our school and community this month. Harvest Festival is the time when we give thanks for all the food we eat. Harvest is also the time to think about and share what we can with those less fortunate than us. This year we will be supporting the Trussel Trust food bank located in Bridgeway Centre.
If you are able to, we would like to ask you to donate generously to this worthy cause which supports vulnerable families in our community.
The food bank would be particularly grateful for the following food items:

• Juice or squash

• Sugar

• Jam

• Tinned fruit

• Tinned rice pudding

• Tinned pasta

• Jars of Pasta Sauce

• Tinned meat

• Sweet biscuits

Year 5 and 6 went down the caves!

This week Year 5 and 6 visited the caves in Nottingham city centre as part of their topic on the history of Nottingham. The children were taken on a tour of the how the caves were used from their beginnings right up to their use as bunkers during world war two. They then had the opportunity to work with an archeologist and had the opportunity to take part in a mini archeological dig and log their findings. The trip was a fabulous way for the children to explore the history the city they live in.

Attendance

It’s no surprise that children who are in school the most get the most learning. How has your family started the year? Check the graphic sent by email to see if your children are getting everything they can from school!
