I hope you have all had a fantastic break! We have an exciting half-term ahead of us. Check back here next week to see what we get up to :)
Design and Technology
In DT, we have been applying our knowledge of structures and their stability by making our own chair for Baby Bear. We worked in pairs to measure, cut, construct and test the structures. We then discussed how we could make it better.
Geography
In Geography, we have been using our research skills to identify human and physical features of Nottingham. We worked collaboratively to present our learning.
We then used our reasoning skills to answer 'These are both maps of ....? How do you know? We had to compare both maps, identify differences and apply our knowledge of Nottingham.
Maths - Practical Resources
History - Examining Sources
As part of our History learning, we have been learning how to retrieve information from historical sources. We have looked at different images and pieces of writing about Remembrance Day. Have a look at our findings:
Our Big Investigation
This week a crime has taken place at Victoria Primary School! We have been tasked with investigating it and finding out who stole Miss Froggatt's one-of-a-kind Robot. So far, we have examined the crime scene, identified our 3 suspects and interviewed Mr. Edwards. Next week we will be working on our Police Reports - watch this space!
A Fantastic First Week in Year 2!
We had a fantastic first week! We have been working hard on recognising numbers up to 100 and used a range of concrete resources to help us recognise tens and ones.
Mary Anning - What an inspiration!
This week we have been learning all about Mary Anning. We have read stories about her and the fantastic things she achieved. We spoke about the different values and skills Mary Anning showed, we then developed these skills by completing a STEM challenge. We had to collaborate, show determination and try different strategies!
