Expectations

Uniform and PE Kit

Please ensure your child comes to school in the Victoria School uniform, including black shoes.

Children should bring their full PE kit to school on Monday and leave it here until Friday, as the timetable may change and affect PE days. Please ensure that all items, including coats and lunchboxes are clearly labelled.

Spring 1 PE days

Year 5 Fothergill - Tuesday and Wednesday

Year 5/6 Bridgetower - Tuesday and Friday

Year 6 Tagore - Tuesday and Wednesday

Reading

Reading is essential to your child's understanding of the whole curriculum and their overall progress. Please try and listen to your child read as much as possible - at least three times a week. You and your child can use Boom Reader to record and comment on what they have read. Children will be expected to complete a book review once they have completed their book.

Homework

Homework is assigned through Sats Companian. Children will receive homework related to their English and Maths learning. Children will have a week to complete their homework before submitting to their teachers.

Spelling

Please practice the 'Words of the Week' with your child at home. New words will be provided each Monday, with a spelling test the following Monday.

Times tables

Speedy recall of times tables is vital for success in many areas of Maths. To support this, children should practice their times tables weekly at home using their TT Rockstars logins. Regular practice will help build confidence and ensure a strong foundation for future learning.

If you have any questions about how to support your child at home, we are more than happy to help!
