Key Information

Expectations

Uniform and PE Kit

Please ensure your child comes to school in the Victoria School uniform. This includes completely black shoes.

Children should bring their correct PE kit to school on a Monday and leave it here until Friday as sometimes the timetable can change and this may affect PE days. Everything should be clearly labeled, including coats and lunchboxes.

Reading

Reading is essential to your child's understanding of the whole curriculum and their overall progress. Please try and listen to your child read as much as possible - at least three times a week. They will be given a reading diary at the start of the term which needs to be signed each time they read at home.

Homework

Homework is given out in Year 5 and 6 on Purple Mash. Children have their own password and they are able to access the homework and further learning on the site.

Vocabulary and Spelling

Please practise the 'Words of the Week' with your child at home. The new words will be given on a Monday with their spellings tested the following Monday. You will find them written into reading diaries.

Times tables

Speedy recall of times tables is vital for success in so many areas of maths. Children should practise their times tables weekly at home.

If you have any questions about how to support your child at home, we would be more than happy to help!
