Safe and Well

School staff all send their best wishes to all of our families and hope that you are all safe and well. We are all doing fine, although not seeing you all has been strange! As today would have been the last day of term, staff have been creating messages for you all which you will be able to see on our Instagram at home time. We hope you like them and that they brighten up your Friday!

Goodbye Mrs Kershaw

Today is Mrs Kershaw’s last day at Victoria Primary School. Mrs Kershaw has a new job with Nottinghamshire County Council, advising teachers about how to improve their work for children who don’t speak English at home. She has done a great job of leading the way with this at our school, so we know she will do a fantastic job in her now role.

Mrs Kershaw will really miss her children in Boot Class, but is leaving them in the safe hands of Mrs Evans, who will be their full time teacher for the rest of the year.

School Closures

We have not had any information from the government about when schools might be allowed to re-open. Because of this, we are expecting that school will continue to be closed for many weeks after the Easter holiday.

Home Learning Packs

The paper packs were designed to keep children busy for the last two weeks. We hope children have been able to get on with some of the tasks. Even if they haven’t, it is really important that you don’t let your children’s basic skills come to a stop at this time. If your child isn’t (at the very least) reading something every day / isn’t running through counting, basic adding and times tables every day – they WILL struggle when they get back to school.

Learning After Easter

After Easter, work will be set on an app called Seesaw. This really easy app allows us to send you information and tasks and for your children to take photos or videos of what they are achieving to share with their teachers. We will send full information and log-in codes closer to the time.

Free School Meals / Food Vouchers

There are two types of Free School Meals:

  1. Universal Meals for all children in Reception, Year 1 & Year 2
