Lates and absences

The law in England is very strict about schooling. All children are expected to be in school – on time – every day. The City Education Welfare Service have administered over £1000 worth of fines and criminal convictions to Victoria Primary School families this year for persistent lateness and absence. The school will always write if your child’s attendance is becoming a concern to give families a chance of avoiding action by the Welfare Service. If you have any problems or concerns, our Family Support Assistant - Lorraine Whistler – can meet with you to help. Her direct line is 0115 807 7755 if you would like to speak to her.
