Welcome to our page! Class Bell is made up of 18 bright and brilliant children. Our Class Teacher is Miss O'Donoghue.
Class Bell is named after Alexander Graham Bell. He was a famous Victorian who invented many important things like the telephone and the metal detector. He was very clever and creative, just like us! To find out more about our namesake, click here.
Soup Making and Tasting - October 9th 2017
Thank you to all the parents who came to try the soup we made!
Week beginning 9th October 2017
Soup Making and Tasting
Parents/carers are invited to try some of our yummy soup, inspired by our book of the week "The Gigantic Turnip". We will make it with Mrs. Walker in the morning and then parents can come in to try some at 2.45pm. We hope you like it!
This week our Book of the Week is "The Gigantic Turnip". It is about a turnip that gets stuck in the ground and the farmer needs help to pull it out. We will be talking about how we help others and how we feel when others help us.
In phonics we are moving on to our second set of sounds: r l d b f h i u. We will be learning to read and write words with these sounds in them e.g. rib, lid, rub. Have a go at making some words of your own at home!
Puzzle has brought us a new maths question this week. "What if onesausage jumps out of the pan?" We will be working hard to answer this question by taking one away. We will also be learning more about height by building Jenga towers and seeing which are tall and which are short.
Check our homework section for extra learning you can do at home. If you have done something special at home, bring it in to show us! We love to see work from home!
Don't forget to return your P.E./Yoga homework sheet. Better still - bring in pictures of you putting your own shoes and socks on. We can display them proudly on our homework board!
Please keep practising your Bear Words at home. The more you practise, the closer you are to receiving your certificate! We test Bear Words every Friday.
Read at least 3 times this week and make sure parents sign your reading diary to let us know how well you did or if there's anything you need to get better at.
